Txakoli Primo | Zarutz, Spain
Txakoli (pronounced ‘Tcha-Ko-Lee’) is a slightly sparkling, dry and crisp white wine with a comparatively low alcohol content. It is produced entirely in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country.
Txakoli is not a fully sparkling wine but has a natural ‘spritz’. It is traditionally poured from head height into the glass held at waist level – this flamboyant serving aerates the wine and helps add a certain ‘sparkle’. Txakoli is perfect light drinking and, for the Basque people, often accompanies seafood pinchos.
Spain’s answer to Vinho Verde, but sometimes drier and with a little more spritz. It is perfect light drinking and, for the Basque people, often accompanies seafood pinchos.
Zarautz is a blend of 60% Xarel-lo, 35% Viura and 5% Chardonnay with.

Grape Varieties: Chardonnay, Viura, Xarel-lo
Alcohol/VOL: 11.0%
Vintage: 2022
Tasting Notes: Pale yellow / light golden colour with a complex bouquet of lime, lychee, citrus and stone fruits backed with aromatic herbs. Its fresh on the palate – with tingly lemon and grapefruit citrus and tangy green apples. Well integrated – fresh, balanced with a good mid palate and a persistent finish.
Lovely as an aperitif, but also drink with white meat, fish – especially anchovies and tuna – and cheese.
Other: Screwcap
