Tucumen Reserve Chardonnay | Mendoza, Argentina
Reserve Chardonnay is a new offering from Tucumen coming from a single vineyard, Redeo del Medio in Maipu, loam and alluvial soil, planted in 2005 and 700m above sea level.
The grapes have a controlled temperature fermentation at 15-17C. Ageing is for 7 months, 30% barrel fermentation in first use French and American oak.
Taking its name from the Budeguer family home in TUCUmán and their winery home in MENdoza, the Tucumen label was commissioned from leading designer Guillo Milia. The colours are inspired by the painted houses of the old town of Boca, and the typefaces from old street posters of the 1930s and 40s with the aim to reflect both the Mendoza and Tucumán regions. The collage conveys the cultures, styles, colours and textures of the two lands whilst highlighting the exciting, bright, fun and expressive nature of the wines.
Pale golden colour with an intense fruit bouquet and hints of honey. The oak aging gives notes of vanilla and coconut leading to a smooth, balanced finish.
