Quinta de Aves Syrah | Tierra de Castilla, Spain

£15.20

Quinta de Aves Syrah is an award winning, small production, wine from one of Spain’s areas producing ‘Volcanic wines’.

The grapes are sourced from 7ha of 14 year old vines and harvesting is carried out at night because of the heat. Being close to the vineyards, grapes are able to be transported to the cellar in as short a time as possible. The must is transferred to the tanks by gravity, thanks to the height difference of the hillside. There are 49 stainless steel tanks, digitally controlled and heat is provided by a bio-mass boiler.

There is a current interest in ‘Volcanic Wines’, and Quinta de Aves is from one of the most important volcanic regions in the Iberian Peninsular – Campo de Catatrava.
