Little Cricket Gruner Vertliner | Hungary
Gruner Veltliner is a very food friendly wine, but also one to be appreciated as a varietal. As Jancis Robinson notes “I was slow to recognise Grüner Veltliner’s charms… several blind tastings… convince me that Grüner Veltliner was truly a great grape variety.”
It is Austria’s most widely planted grape variety and one of the primary white grapes in Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. This wine hails from the Pannon region of Hungary where it is locally known as Zöldveltelini.
