HaHa Pinot Gris | Marlborough, New Zealand

£16.60

The grapes were sourced from a number of vineyard sites in Hawke’s Bay. After a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation a small portion of the final blend went through malolactic fermentation to create a softer richer style of Pinot Gris. Following blending, the wine was bottled young to capture the aromatic characters and freshness.

The vintage provided the warmest weather on record in New Zealand. This along with favourable rain post flowering set up a fantastic fruit crop – an early and compact harvest produced fabulous wines that rival the last two years vintages with well-balanced flavour and acidity.

Wine Orbit: 90 points

Winestate magazine: 4 Stars

Grape Varieties: Pinot Gris

Alcohol/VOL: 12.5%

Tasting Notes: Light golden yellow with bright green hues. Lifted floral bouquet and a hint of creaminess on the nose; the apple, nectarine and pear aromatics are reflected in the palate. These vibrant fruit flavours merge into a silky, rounded mouthfeel. Delightfully drinkable.

This wine is delicious on its own or enjoy slightly chilled with a chicken Caesar salad.

Other: Screwcap
