Ama Vida – “Love of Life” – commemorates springtime in the vineyards, the sense of everything waking up after the winter. There is delight and excitement on the palate and warmth in the body.

Legend has it that the first Albariño vines were brought by sea to the mouth of the river Umia by monks on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. The special microclimate of this area of Galicia proved ideal for these vines and years later this varietal has become one of the most important in northern Spain.

Ama Vida is produced at the Rectoral do Umia winery located in the Salnés Valley where the Albariño grape traditionally develops its maximum quality and strength. The winery, founded in 2009, benefits from the know-how, excellence and technology accrued throughout the more than 50 years of activity of the Bodegas Gallegas group.
