A Passion is born.
Destil-lieries del Maresme was born in 1875 as a small distillery in Barcelona, established by the French manufacturer Morel y Bas under the name of Sorel.
Quickly, Sorel became popular among residents of Barcelona and the coastal towns in the province.
Established in Catalonia.
In 1947, the Soler family acquired the distillery with the aim of expanding the brand and supporting craft distilling.
The distilery was moved to the coastal area of El Maresme, as we continued to explore the region in search of the best selected ingredients.
Crafted by the Mediterranean.
Legend has it that this area was born out of the love between a fisherman and a mermaid, where the sea and the mountains meet creating a unique and sober landscape with a wild beauty.
This unique location provides our Mediterranean essence: the best ingredients and aromas we use in our gin.
Modernisation, with heritage.
In the sixties, the distilery was modernised, yet always held to its traditional methods and family essence.
The artisan production process and high-quality products began to stand out among the spirit drinks and liquors of the country.

Named in honour of the ancient Port at Barcelona we have produced this fine, crystal clear gin.
The main botanicals include coriander, clove, juniper, angelica root, ginger, lemon rind and orange peel.
