Krombacher Dark has an outstanding depth of flavour using different high roasted malts. An authentic, dark, German lager – naturally brewed according to the German Purity Law of 1516 – that is packed full of flavour: rich and complex.
Almost black with a glimmer of deep, golden brown; a medium-full bodied beer of moderate bitterness, lightly hopped and rich in malt for a well-balanced character. Distinct malt-caramel notes with liquorice, spice and coffee notes also discernible; a hoppy bitterness asserts itself slowly to linger on the palate, leading to a full flavoured, intense finish that is rich malty and roasted.
Hearty solid dishes go well with the strong and spicy Krombacher Dark – such as stews, game, braised meat, roast beef, knuckle of pork etc.
